Agenda:

1) Minutes review

2) Industry Report

  • Draft ready to review

3) Jim Fairweather: Change management

  • What kinds of efforts will get people to participate and keep them participating 
  • Make it clear in the proposal that sustainability issues in terms of teaching remain in place.
  • The changes will be structured within the existing curriculum.
  • Talk to the faculty, and chairs (Mark, Daina and Neeraj will arrange meetings with CHE and CE chairs)

3) Proposal

  • Letters of support from AB and college of ENG and MSU directives are important.
  • Intro  with summary from previous proposal
  • Draft outlining the intent of new proposal
  • What value have they got from their participation in  this process
  • Ideas: Do a letter and pass it around for signatures
  • Have the AB members review the industry report draft.

Proposal framework:

  • Outcomes are very important:

- Effect on students
- Effect on Curriculum

- Effect on teachers

  • What is the evidence for it; We think it will be sustainable because..... 
  • We need to include comparison studies pre- and post- intervention. Look at current seniors and juniors to establish baseline data. then look after intervention The best place to analyze is capstone courses (2010).
  • The analysis would be a qualitative analysis of the capstone course (nature of the project) How does computation integrates (Interviews and surveys)
  • Neeraj and Daina will look at their respective disciplines.
  • Idea: Engage the AB in creating the rubric several l people involved in the review (industry and academics).
